The briefing

Claude's redesigned projects are rolling out in stages to Pro and Max subscribers. When you create a project, Claude sets it up for you automatically, and up to $100 of initial usage, including that setup, won't count toward your usage limits.

What you get

It's a one-time project credit of up to $100, valid for 24 hours after you create the project. It's used before your regular plan allowance, and once it runs out or expires, the project draws on your usual limits.

Projects split work into parallel threads, and each thread is a full Claude Code cloud session, so usage climbs faster than in a normal chat. The $100 is a good excuse to try a real job, like working through a repo or building a slide deck.

The new projects reach Pro and Max users who use cloud sessions in Claude Code and have no existing projects on web or desktop first, then expand to more users and to chat. If you don't have access yet, you can join the waitlist. Team and Enterprise plans come later.

How to use it

  1. Open Code on claude.ai, the Code tab in the desktop app, or the mobile app, create a project, and pick a goal plus the repo or documents to work with.
  2. The credit applies automatically once the project is created. The usage page in settings shows how much is used and when it expires.
