The briefing

Tencent EdgeOne Makers gives every account a monthly free allowance for its built-in models: 500K tokens a month, credited automatically with nothing to claim. You can call DeepSeek V4 Pro, Kimi K2.6 and several other models right away, which is handy for demos, prototypes and small side projects.

What you get

  • 500,000 free tokens per month for built-in models on every Makers account.
  • The allowance is shared across all projects under the same account, and you can check usage on the Models page in the console.
  • No credit card is needed to sign up or start calling models.
  • This is part of the Makers free edition, which Tencent describes as a limited-time offer; quotas may change once the paid edition launches.

What you can use

Built-in model IDs all start with @makers/:

  • @makers/deepseek-v4-pro
  • @makers/deepseek-v4-flash
  • @makers/deepseek-v4.1-flash
  • @makers/kimi-k2.6
  • @makers/minimax-m3
  • @makers/minimax-m2.7
  • @makers/hy3 (Tencent Hunyuan)
  • @makers/hy3-preview
  • @makers/zhuque-text

The gateway speaks both the OpenAI and Anthropic protocols, so the OpenAI SDK, Anthropic SDK and Vercel AI SDK all work, with SSE streaming. A single request can run for up to 300 seconds. Built-in models are meant for prototyping and technical validation; for production traffic, bind your own vendor key instead.

How to use it

  1. Sign up or log in to the EdgeOne Makers console.
  2. Open the Models page and create a Models API key.
  3. Point your SDK's base URL at the Makers gateway and set the model to a built-in ID such as @makers/deepseek-v4-pro.

See the Free LLM API page, built-in models overview and free edition quotas.
