Cline offers Reflection's open 501B Beam model free for a limited time
Cline has added Beam 1.0, the open model Reflection released on October 16, to its free model list. With a Cline account, pick reflection/beam-free in the IDE extension or CLI. It is a rotating, limited-time free promotion with a usage quota, and it is not available through the Cline API.
The briefing
Reflection open-sourced its first model, Beam 1.0, on October 16, and Cline has now added it to its free model list. Anyone with a Cline account can pick it in the IDE extension or CLI and use it at no cost until the free quota runs out.
Beam is built for coding, reasoning, and long-running agent tasks, and its coding benchmark results are strong, so it is worth a run on a real repository.
What you can use
The model name is Beam, and the model ID is reflection/beam-free. It is part of Cline's rotating, limited-time free model promotion with a usage quota, and the free lineup changes over time.
After the free quota is used up, you can continue with ClinePass at $9.99 a month, or switch to Cline usage-billing.
Specs and public benchmarks
Beam 1.0 is a mixture-of-experts model with 501B total parameters and 23B active per token, with weights released under Apache 2.0. It takes text input only, supports a 1M-token context window, and offers five reasoning levels: low, medium, high, xhigh, and max.
In Reflection's published BF16 results it scores 81.6% on SWE-bench Verified, 80.1% on Terminal Bench 2.1, 66.1% on SWE-Bench Pro v1, and 90.6% on GPQA Diamond.
How to use it
