Cursor has teamed up with MLH (Major League Hacking) to give free Cursor Pro accounts to people taking part in Global Hack Week: Hacktoberfest. The hack week runs from October 9 to October 15, and anyone anywhere can register for free, no student email required.
What you get
After you register for the hack week, the MLH team emails a Cursor Pro promo code to the address you signed up with. Redeem it and your account becomes Cursor Pro, with the usage included in Pro ready for your coding work. MLH decides when the codes go out and hasn't given a fixed date, so keep an eye on your inbox after registering.
How to claim
- Create an MLH account and register for Global Hack Week: Hacktoberfest on the MLH event page.
- Download and install the Cursor desktop app, then sign up and log in.
- Once the code arrives, manually upgrade to Pro under Billing & Invoices in your Cursor dashboard and enter the code so the free credit applies.
If you also want to complete the MLH challenge, submit a screenshot of your Cursor dashboard showing Pro was redeemed.
