Paid Copilot plans
Eligibility:
Users on paid Copilot plans who select Copilot Fusion in VS Code, the GitHub Copilot app, Copilot CLI, or JetBrains IDEs

The briefing

GitHub Copilot Fusion became generally available on October 28. Instead of being one specific model, it lets Copilot pick and orchestrate several models for each task. For a limited time, users on paid Copilot plans get 30% off the model costs whenever they use Fusion.

What you get

Fusion bills each model it calls at that model's standard rate, and during the promotion paid-plan users get 30% off on top of that. GitHub has not announced an end date yet.

Fusion comes in three effort levels. Standard favors versatile models for everyday coding, High leans on more capable models for harder tasks and deeper reasoning, and Max prioritizes the most capable models. On the Artificial Analysis Coding Agent Index, Fusion Max scored 60, within two points of Claude Code with Opus 5.5 Max, at about half the average API cost per task and with roughly half the tokens.

Who can use it

Fusion is available on every Copilot plan, and the 30% discount applies to paid Copilot plans. It works in VS Code, the GitHub Copilot app, Copilot CLI, and JetBrains IDEs, with more clients coming.

How to use

  1. Open a Copilot chat in a supported client and pick Copilot Fusion in the model picker.
  2. Choose Standard, High, or Max depending on the task.
  3. Work as usual; the discount is applied to the model costs automatically.

See GitHub's announcement for details, and compare plans on the Copilot pricing page.
