The briefing

Meta Superintelligence Labs announced the Meta Global AI Developer Hackathon at Meta Connect. It's a 10-day virtual hackathon that developers anywhere in the world can join for free.

What you get

Every participant gets $150 in Meta Model API credits to build with Meta's newest Muse models. You can also build on Muse Code or Meta's open-weights models.

There's a $1M cash prize pool across two tracks, one for indie developers and one for startup teams. Engineers and researchers from Meta Superintelligence Labs will run hands-on technical workshops during the ten days.

You need to apply, and credits go to accepted participants. Applications aren't open yet, and Meta hasn't announced the dates or judging rules.

How to claim

  1. Open the Meta Global AI Developer Hackathon page and click Get notified to subscribe with your email.
  2. When the application email arrives, pick a track and submit your application.
  3. Once accepted, use the $150 in credits on Meta Model API to build your project.

To get familiar with the models ahead of time, check the docs on Meta's developer platform and Meta's Connect developer recap.
