The briefing
OpenAI announced on October 29 that usage limits for ChatGPT Pro 100, Pro 500 and Business Premium are doubled, effective the same day. Existing subscribers don't need to change anything. Work and Codex usage goes up right away, and many people who had just hit their weekly limit could keep working after a refresh.
What you get
Pro 100, Pro 500 and Business Premium get double the usage limits, so you can do twice as much in Work and Codex.
Pro 200 was scheduled to get lower limits on October 30. That change is cancelled, so Work and Codex usage on Pro 200 stays where it is.
Extended limits for dots continue as well, and dot usage is still counted separately from your default usage.
No end date has been announced for the higher limits.
How to use it
- Open ChatGPT or Codex and sign in with your subscribed account. The new limits are already applied.
- To check, open the Usage page in Settings and look at your remaining usage.
- If you're not subscribed yet, pick Pro 100 or Pro 500 on the ChatGPT pricing page.
The announcement is in Tibo's post on X.
