OpenCode Go adds stealth model Iceman, free and unlimited for now

#OpenCode#LLM

OpenCode Go just added Iceman Contributor Free, a stealth model that's free for a limited time with no request limits, and it doesn't count against your Go plan's monthly usage. It has a 262K-token context and tool calling. You need an OpenCode Go subscription and must allow the model to learn from your requests.

Iceman Contributor Free is free for a limited time, with no request limits and no draw on your Go monthly usage

Eligible plans:
OpenCode Go
Eligibility:
OpenCode Go subscribers who allow their requests to be used to improve the model

The briefing

OpenCode Go added a new stealth model on October 24, Iceman Contributor Free (model ID iceman-contributor-free). No lab has claimed it yet. Go subscribers can use it free for a limited time, and it doesn't draw down the plan's monthly usage.

What you get

Input, output, and cache reads are all priced at $0, and there's no cap on requests per 5 hours, per week, or per month. It's free for a limited time, with no end date announced.

It's a Contributor model, so the free access comes in exchange for letting OpenCode use your prompts and completions to improve the model, and requests aren't zero-retention. Keep sensitive code on a different model.

It takes text input only, supports a 262,144-token context and up to 131,072 output tokens, and handles reasoning and tool calls.

How to use it

  1. Subscribe to OpenCode Go in the OpenCode Console (from $10 a month) and copy your API key.
  2. In the Console, go to Settings › Privacy and turn on Allow paid endpoints that train on request data. The model won't run until you do.
  3. In OpenCode, run /connect, choose OpenCode Go, paste your key, and switch the model to opencode-go/iceman-contributor-free.
  4. For direct API calls, use https://opencode.ai/inference/go/openai/v1/chat/completions with the model name iceman-contributor-free.
