The briefing

Tencent's WorkBuddy has partnered with StepFun to bring Step 5 Preview into the app, free for two weeks. The model shows up in both the international and China versions of WorkBuddy, so this is a good window to try it for coding, document work, or data analysis.

What you can use

The free window runs from October 12 to October 25. Step 5 Preview normally consumes credits at 0.43x; during the promotion the rate is 0, so chats with it do not use your credits.

You can adjust reasoning effort in the model settings. The context window defaults to 300K tokens and can be raised to 1M tokens for long documents or large codebases.
